There are a ton of people who are good pugmates. There are more good groups then bad.

And frankly, I'd like to hear the other side of the story when it comes to bad pug experiences. How do I know you are being 100% honest and YOU weren't the cause of a failed mission?

man, you should get a life or play offline RPG coz online game means you have to do interaction with other players whether they are good or bad. Besides, i never see a MMORPG that don't feature interaction with other players yet. Every MMORPG sure got noobs. You just don't expect every player to be an expert once they start playing don't you? Just take it easy. It is just a game bro.

Not played many crpg's have you? This is the state of the art. Except for Planescape: Torment. That's the only rpg ever made which put the emphasis on rp.

I may go with PUGs when I'm desperate or bored, but most of the time I'm either soloing something or doing it with friends.
I mostly solo, but I've yet to be in an abusive PUG. I've been in BAD pugs, with people who didn't know the way, the objective, when to nuke, how to call, or their hand from their ass, but that's OK - everyone sucks but me anyway, so it's just a question of degrees.

Except that guy I had in my team in random arena. He was good. Hell, he was ubergood. And come to think of it, I probably suck too.

But I digress. Perhaps people who always find themselves in abusive groups need to consider something. What do I know.

Damn, I forgot: To the original poster, congratulations! You're in the only MMORPG where soloing from start to finish is not only perfectly possible, but fun. And once you leave the immediate surroundings of Ascalon you'll learn that henches aren't cheating. They're life support.

Ahhh, Numa I always like to read your posts. So many times you've beaten me to the comment. I'm glad to hear someone else mention PS - Torment. That has to be one of my all time favorite games and Black Isle was a killer game company. That game had the most captivating storyline. I was always wondering what was next, even when I had an idea what was going on, there was always a few twists here and there.

OP -- If you hate public interaction, for the life of me I can't figure out why you would post on a public forum for all to criticize. There are plenty of nice people who play this game. People in our guild often razz each other when we screw up, but we always have a good suggestion on how to improve the build or strategy to the mission or pvp. We don't tolerate trash talking and people don't need to talk big and prove themselves. There is support and acceptance, but also a code of conduct of a fashion. I think you will find this game will be a lot of fun for you if you can find a group of people that have some common interests that you can BS about while you hunt and such.

heres an idea that might save the OP from.. making more posts?

anyway this is what you do: wait for the next build in gw. then when it says "please exit blablabla", dont exit. slowly, the place will vacate until you are the the only one in the entire game. downside is your playing on an older version, but im sure you can get around that somehow

Wow! i never knew so many people would be interested in this subject! I never looked near this thread after i posted it but now its just boomed. well thanks to all for posting and stuff, especially those of you whose criticism gave me the motivation to finally go to that therapist and sort myself out.
I still hate those n00b-slagging jerks though, and i object ot people claiming that maybe i am being a jerk online, because that is one problem i know i dont have. probably.

Maybe you should be playing something like Fable or Neverwinter Nights instead of GW.

I agree with pretty much the whole thing except kill stealing...whe cares about that? There pretty much no such thing in GW

But I'd have to say even though this is a kickass game, every idiot with a lvl 20 char thinks he can say whatever he wants

Seriously, you beat pve. You want a cookie? Perhaps one with sprinkles on it. Most players can beat Pve in a day so, get off yourself

I feel mostly the same way flaxx, although i don't think it's "cheating" when I use henchies. But yeah, people saying words does get annoying, ;p

Wait how are henchies cheating? It's hard as balls on some quests/missions with henchies. Doing missions with henchies is much mroe gratifying for myself

To some extent. I've played almost the entire game with henchies (I've yet to beat any mission otherwise). Though I do not feel like cheating with them, I actually enjoy it quite a bit. I like that I can be an ass or great to them, walk away, slowly/quickly get drunk and get them killed, all that stuff.

As far as groups go I have the same problem here I have every other online game I've played. Either I am carrying the team or dragging it down. I seem to hit that wierd niche of neither a really good player or really bad player. When I carry the team I would just assume to use henchman and it makes me feel bad to be the weak link. In good teams I don't get flamed (I'm obviously trying and do what they say to the best of my ability), but I still know I suck.

It's one of the reasons I am usually crafter in MMO's - I do actually enjoy doing that and I get a good excuse to not be very good at combat. Plus people go away happy if afterwards you make them a weapon or armor piece for cost even if you aren't the worlds best player. GW, at least, has allowed me most of what I enjoy in online games - sitting in town and reading/watching the people react and forming an occasional group (really bad teams can be thier own amount of fun), but for once I can actually have hope of making it to the end game/higher level content due to the henchies. Though there have been the occasional game I put enough time/effort into to actually be good at it and not have that problem, they are just VERY few and far between.

You opened a can of worms. I hope you can close it.

As for my 2 cents, I prefer grouping. Why? I hold conversations. Can't talk to yourself <or with henchies in the group, man, they're like a brick wall!>
